ComEd's Solar Spotlight Program

An excellent opportunity for African American High School Students to learn about renewable Solar energy, how to complete a Solar Circuit as well as the importance of Solar power during Safety compromised situations like weather events. Students will also learn about the basics of STEM and how being interested in a career in STEM could help them to be part of the valued workforce of the future.

Students engaging in ComEd’s Solar Spotlight benefit from:

• Fun curriculum developed with ComEd mentors that allows them to build interest and confidence in STEM fields

• Exposure to inspiring leaders and mentors working in STEM

• Opportunities to branch out of their neighborhoods to meet new friends/like-minded peers

• Potentially starting down the pathway to fill valuable STEM jobs of the future 

This program is open to African American students ages 13 through 18 who are legal residents of Illinois as of January 1, 2018 with parent or legal guardian permission to enter and participate. 

When: 
Saturday, February 10 & Saturday February 17 from 8am to 2pm each day 

Where: 
February 10 at ComEd Training Facility 3536 S. Iron St. Chicago, IL
February 17 at Illinois Institute of Technology Crown Hall 

Students and their parents can sign up at ComEdSolarSpotlight.com. All submissions must be received no later than February 5. 

Breakfast, Snack and Lunch will be served during both Saturday’s educational workshops. 

 **Persons who are an employee, director, officer, or independent contractor in any of the following categories, or are the immediate family member of such person, are NOT eligible to participate in the Promotion: ComEd or its parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliated companies and any entities engaged in the development, production or distribution of Promotion materials or the prizes.
